St Teilo House
Rhymney, South Wales
A 24-bed hospital specializing in psychiatric rehabilitation for women.
“Our daughter settled here straight away, amazed us, getting better and better. She hasn’t had a bad day with us since she’s been here. Staff here are second to none. She’s so contented and so are we. It means the world to us”
St. Teilo House is situated on the outskirts of the village of Rhymney, with fantastic views of the beautiful Welsh countryside just at the end of the road. The setting gives it an air of tranquility, perfect to promote well-being in all our patients.
The hospital itself provides thoughtfully-designed, well-appointed surroundings to enable the women in our care to re-build their living and vocational skills, ready to regain their place in the community.
Every room has en-suite facilities. In addition, we have a gym, a hair salon and relaxation area where patients can receive nail care, beauty treatments and one to one sessions with staff. We also have two large lounge areas which afford lots of space for our patients.
Dedicated clinical teams provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training. Where appropriate, access to the local community is an essential step along the pathway to rehabilitation, for both leisure pursuits and for social training such as shopping and using public transport, so the hospital is ideally placed.
The hospital is well positioned for bus, rail and road links to Cardiff and other major towns in South Wales.
Locally we have access to, for example, colleges, Gwent Association of Voluntary Services, local kennels, cycling facilities at Bryn Bach Park. We are in close proximity to the Brecon Beacons National Park.
We are proud to report that the most frequently cited compliment from visitors, professional or patients’ relatives concerns the friendly atmosphere in the hospital. That is such an important starting point for our patients on their care pathway.
