In our single sex hospitals, our unique programme of therapy and care is designed to re-build patients’ living and vocational skills, so they may regain their place in the community.

After admission, we provide a generous allowance so patients can buy a new set of clothes if they choose to. The renewal continues with the room itself: a bright, optimistic space, where patients are encouraged to decorate in their own style. This promotes a feeling of ownership, a reawakened awareness of personal responsibility.

Improved patient outcomes and better value services

We have a year on year 76% success ratio of patients returning to lower cost community-based care.

In the East Midlands, a number of PCTs and re:source, the procurement hub, worked together with Cambian. They developed new care plans for patients in secure facilities considered suitable for psychiatric rehabilitation. The result? - improved patient outcomes and major cost savings – two key objectives for the hub. re:source estimates up to £49,000 per annum is saved per patient – with costs falling even further when they progress to community-based treatment.
