Cambian Victoria House
Barton Street, Darlington, County Durham, DL1 2LN
A 32-bed hospital specializing in psychiatric rehabilitation for men
While patients are sometimes referred to our hospitals from out of area due to lack of appropriate health service provision closer to home, we consider our work with families and communities an important part of the care pathway. For this reason, we are particularly delighted to come to Darlington – a new area of the country for us.
Cambian's unique programme combines intensive rehabilitation therapy with patient-centred care plans determined by individual needs.
Dedicated clinical teams will provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training.
Within the hospital, apart from beautifully appointed bedrooms with en suite facilities, we have our own gym, O.T area and internet café. In our secure grounds we have a garden club and allotments.
Where appropriate, access to the local community is an essential step along the pathway to rehabilitation, for both leisure pursuits and for social training such as shopping and using public transport. For this, the hospital is ideally placed.
Situated on the outskirts of Darlington, we are within walking distance of the town centre with its well-established high street and market. Nearby are well-connected train and bus services.
Recreational facilities are close at hand too – a gym, swimming baths, a snooker hall, bingo halls, cinema and theatre, a museum, art centre and Music Forum
