Raglan House

A 26-bed hospital specialising in psychiatric rehabilitation for women

“Some of the women who will come into our care have spent much of their adult lives in the mental health system.  Our aim is to help them re-build their living and vocational skills and regain their place in the community”

A 26-bed hospital specializing in mental health rehabilitation for women in a safe and comfortable environment. Newly refurbished to exemplary standards, Raglan House has been designed to provide an environment which promotes recovery for women with its focus on space, personal privacy and dignity.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Our therapy rooms include beauty and hairdressing salons – with on site beauty therapist - and an IT suite as well as a kitchen for cookery skills training.

Dedicated clinical teams provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, nursing, medical and vocational training. Patient choice is encouraged and supported. In-house, we offer a range of activities both for therapy and leisure; budgeting, food hygiene, arts and crafts, creative writing and aromatherapy massages are just a few examples.

When the time is right, access to the local community is an essential step along the pathway to independence, for both leisure pursuits and for social training such as shopping and using public transport. External activities are tailored to individual needs and wishes.

Raglan House is within walking distance to Smethwick Town Centre which is well placed to provide meaningful rehabilitation. It has libraries, community colleges, shops, a 24hr Gym, 24hr supermarkets and various places of worship. Birmingham City centre is approximately 15 minutes drive from the Hospital

At the local Community Action Project, our patients may participate in the pre-employment programme and use the library services. At the Ron Davies Centre and Sandwell College, they can study art, French, computers, yoga, sewing, nail art, skin care, make-up and much more.

Our membership of a local neighbourhood forum provides links to local businesses and voluntary organizations.
