Cambian Hartlepool School is an independent, DfE-registered, co-educational day school, providing specialist education for up to 18 students, aged 11 – 17 years. The school is non-denominational and has a secular ethos, but respects the cultural needs and religious beliefs of all.
Hartlepool School and vocational centre exists in order to provide academic and learning opportunities for students who have previously failed in mainstream schools. Students placed here will normally have recognised difficulties social, emotional and behavioural attributes. The school provides a nurturing environment that is set up to meet the individual needs of these students.
Hartlepool School is a purposely designed school and which also has a training and vocational centre. Established since 2007 provides education for a wide range of pupils with a variety of educational needs.
Pupils who attend the Hartlepool School follow the National Curriculum and we also have facilities to offer an alternative curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of our young people should this be appropriate.
We want each of our pupils to enjoy coming to school, to enjoy learning and to take advantage of all the opportunities and activities offered to them to bring out the best of their abilities.
Pupils can achieve success by working up through Unit Awards, Entry Level certificates and to full GCSE’s.
We also recognise traditional routes are not for everyone, so pupils can also engage in alternatives such as BTEC and Entry Level qualifications. The school has worked hard to create individualised timetables for our students. All lessons have built in activity sessions which offer the opportunity for our pupils to enjoy and achieve.
