Meet the Team
Purbeck View School is a 38 and 52 week mixed-gender residential school for students aged 7-19 with a diagnosis of autism, or whose difficulties place them on the autistic continuum. Day provision is available for students who live close by.
Our approach at Purbeck View School
Our students often have complex needs, learning difficulties associated with autism and challenging behaviour. We believe that children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) do not progress and develop if left alone. Only with consistent, appropriate intervention will they learn the skills necessary to achieve their potential in later life.
We offer access to the National Curriculum using modified or differentiated programmes of study where appropriate. In addition we provide vocational training and further education opportunities. Drawing upon our proven expertise in specialist education and 24-hour care, we focus on the development of personal, social, communication and living skills. Multi-disciplinary teams and high staff ratios ensure intensive individual support.
Admission can take place at any time during the school year.
We support our students through a wide range of clinical and therapeutic inputs including:
- Speech Language Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Music Therapy
