Meet the Team
Cambian Spring Hill School is a 38 and 52 week mixed-gender residential and day school for children and young people aged 8-19 with a diagnosis of Autism and other related conditions. We support children and young people with a wide range of learning difficulties including those with behavioural, social, emotional, mental health and communication difficulties.

Broad and balanced curriculum
We offer access to the National Curriculum using modified or differentiated programmes of study where appropriate, depending upon the needs of the individual. The school includes Primary, Secondary and Post 16 provision. In Key Stage 4 and Post 16, we provide vocational curriculum and further education and training opportunities depending upon the individual’s long term career aims. In addition, there are opportunities for work experience on-site or with several local employers. The students work towards accreditation depending upon their abilities and long term aims. We can offer a range of qualifications including GCSE, Functional Skills, Entry Level, various Short Courses and AQA Unit Awards. Access to the local community is an important part of the students’ development and integration with employers and other community groups is positively promoted. Extensive use is made of local recreational facilities to facilitate engagement in various leisure activities.
Drawing upon our proven expertise in specialist education and 24-hour care, we focus on the development of personal, social, communication and independence skills. The Children’s Home accommodation is furbished to a high standard and provides a safe environment for children to live in. The care staff are all highly trained and experienced. The multi-disciplinary teams and high staff ratios ensure intensive individual support.
The education and care programmes focus on developing academic, vocational, personal and independent living skills to support a successful transition into adulthood. Most of our students go onto Further Education college courses including Apprenticeships to continue to develop employability skills. Many of our students move into supported living or independent living accommodation which we support through the individual care and transition plans.
Everything we do is supported by a wide range of clinical and therapeutic inputs including:

- Occupational Therapy
- Autism Specialist Practitioner
Location of the school
The school is situated on extensive grounds in a rural location on the outskirts of Ripon, a cathedral city and market town in North Yorkshire. The school is set in 30 acres of spacious land surrounded by farm land and Ripon City Golf Club and is close to the city centre.
