Salary Up to £150,000 FTE  

 

Hours: Up to 24 hours per week (will consider other part working options)

 

Package includes: CPD sessions, regular supervision, Appraisal (Monday to Friday) No on calls

 

Locations: Lufton College Yeovil, The Forum School Blandford Forum Dorset & Purbeck View School Swanage Dorset

 

 

The Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity you will be working across Cambian Education services as a Consultant Psychiatrist providing psychiatric input for the students as needed.

 

Our Cambian Education Services are improving the educational outcomes of children and young adults. Our schools provide support to children with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, severe learning disabilities, challenging behavior and complex needs. We support our students from the age of 7 to the transition pathway. Our services range from specialist primary school provision, specialist secondary schools and specialist further education services that help young adults with learning disabilities.

 

We also offer post-19 provision and young adult residential services. Admission to our service can take place anytime.

 

Your new role will consist of holding psychiatric clinics to review a student’s mental state and medication management, holding consultation with staff, parental and external agency liaison, undertaking clinical audits and contributing to Clinical Governance. You will be involved in training of staff and one day per month, you will receive dedicated training, which will count, towards your CPD

 

Qualifications

  • Full General Medical Council registration
  • Approval under section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred)
  • Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners or equivalent
  • Experincene of working in Child and Adolescent Psychiarty
  • Specialist training in Child psychiatry

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Certificate of completion of Specialist Training
  • MRCPsych
  • Approved Clinician status
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in busy environment
  • Able to evidence good multi-disciplinary team working
  • Evidence of development of special interest

 

You will be involved in the development and of the therapeutic framework. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you must be able to show initiative, demonstrating clear decision making and leadership skills.

 

Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
