World Book Day

07.03.2024

Students at Cambian Hartlepool School lost themselves into a world of books on Thursday. Students enjoyed a trip to the local supermarket to select a new book for personal and school reading. It’s fair to say we have some wonderful minds with an array of imaginations and that shows by the books they selected.  From Novels, to children’s stories, to romance and even crime (with the odd Simpsons Christmas book in there) the students showed their vast array of interests.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go.”— Dr. Seuss. At Cambian Hartlepool School we encourage reading both in school and at home. I mean there is no better way to relax and build a creative imagination than reading, especially when delving into the mind of David Walliams, it seems he was a popular choice of book with us having 10 of them. Student Riley said that he can’t wait to read about ‘Gangsta Granny’ and see what the life of a daring Granny involves.

It’s great to see the kids actively wanting to get involved in World Book Day and it’s a tradition of ours at the school to take our students out to let them pick a book of their choice. Seems they are even happy try on a few fancy dress outfits too.
