➜ Ofsted Cambian Orion Full Inspection Report 2025

The Orion Home is situated within the grounds of Brook View School.

We provide a high standard of care for up to 3 children and young people aged 8- 19 years of age, offering 52-week residential provision for boys and girls with a diagnosis of Autism and communication issues, who are on the ASD pathway and may have suffered trauma or other related conditions.

There may be some young people who stay at Orion Home until they are 19 due to educational purposes.

The aim of Orion is for each of our children and young people to achieve their personal best. This is defined by their care needs with support from staff and other agencies. Everything we strive to do is directed towards achieving their individual targets.

Key objectives for our children and young people are to improve their communication skills, social skills including progress in self-management of behaviours, independence and life skills, to increase self-awareness of physical health and well-being. This will be achieved through children and young people thriving in a nurturing safe environment that they see as their home.

Orion is a 5-bed home with en-suite bedrooms, two communal lounges, a soft play area, a wet room, a communal kitchen diner and a utility room. Orion is an inviting nurturing environment of warmth and comfort.

The rooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard, and each room is equipped with furniture and surroundings that are familiar to our children and young people and that keeps them safe. All rooms are well maintained with the safety of our children and young people paramount.

It was a pleasure to visit The Cambian Brook View school today to complete a review health assessment for a young man in your care.

It was wonderful to hear so many staff members speaking positively when describing 'T' today and it is evident 'T' is receiving a high standard of care at your provision. This is evident when reviewing his previous review health assessments and comparing previous behavioural difficulties to current behaviours and routines today.

It was evident during my visit that your staff have a positive relationship with 'T' and he responds to direction from his care team who appear to know his needs and personality very well.

Upon reviewing 'T's' G.P records I can see care staff are very proactive at supporting 'T's' health needs and advocating for 'T'. Despite 'T's' communication barriers, care staff are able to understand 'T's' needs and respond to him effectively to ensure he is free from discomfort and pain.

It was positive to see so many activities available to support 'T’s' ongoing development and to meet with other professionals involved in 'T's' care to optimise his future health outcomes.
