"Wow - what can I say! I’ve been at Cambian Pengwern College all morning, supporting staff for L’s healthcare needs for her first day at college. What an absolutely WONDERFUL college, with such WONDERFUL staff taking such good care of L. L has two lovely 1:1s who are very hands on and extremely caring, who have now been named “Bestie” by L.

Lots more paperwork has been completed too today, for L’s induction day and her timetable has been all set out for her. Cookery, Animal care, ILS, Essential learning, music and some work experience has been added in too, for L to work in the tuck shop, serving staff and other students, to help her with money skills and communication. L enjoyed seeing the animals this morning, including feeding two donkeys, and laughing as Terri the Turkey kept walking into the classrooms, then a lovely little walk through the woodland area, singing “We’re going on a bear hunt”.

I left L to come home, but I am very relaxed, knowing L was very happy and safe, and she will be home about 4:30pm."

"Mum describes you all there as “incredible” she cannot get over the quality of support for LD and how happy she is with you all there, lovely to hear – mum said that staff are going the extra mile and checking LD is ok if she hasn’t had a good day, and communicating with Alder Hey to support LD to prepare for her operation, mum is blown away by the care and support LD has."

"Good afternoon Boss,

I hope you're doing well, as always. I just wanted to express my gratitude for the brief meeting we had. I truly appreciate your kindess, mentorship, and the way you consistenly guide me with encouragement and hope each day.

The mental strength I gain from your reassurance is truly remarkable. Having you as my boss has given me greater confidence and renewed sense of purpose - for that, I sincerely thank you.

My family and I also send our warmest regards.

Best wishes"

It's the best school for children with severe learning difficulties like those with non-verbal autism.

Their staff are the best in their field.  Staff are very friendly and professional to both students and their families.

It feels like a home away from home.  A very welcoming environment.  There are enough parking spaces, and the outdoor space is huge for students to use.  Each student is treated with love, kindness, compassion, empathy, understanding, patience... I cannot praise them enough.  I am glad I found them.

The proof is in the progress that their students make.  I wish that all schools were individual focussed like Pengwern College.

Keep up the good work guys.  You are changing peoples lives positively.
