Year 11 Students Enjoy a Memorable Trip to the Alexandra Theatre

Our Year 11 students recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Alexandra Theatre to watch a live performance of An Inspector Calls. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved and a fantastic way to bring their English Literature studies to life.

The play, a gripping thriller written by J.B. Priestley, has long been a key part of the GCSE syllabus. Seeing it performed on stage gave students a fresh perspective on the characters, themes, and dramatic techniques they have been exploring in the classroom. The performance was powerful, atmospheric, and thought-provoking, leaving plenty of room for lively discussion on the journey home.

Students praised the cast's outstanding performances and the striking set design, which added to the tension and mystery of the production. Many commented on how seeing the play live helped deepen their understanding of Priestley’s message about social responsibility and the consequences of our actions.

It was a wonderful day that combined learning with the excitement of live theatre, and one we’re sure our students will remember for years to come.

We look forward to offering more enriching experiences like this in the future!
