Brook View School is nestled in the picturesque landscape of East Lancashire, in the charming village of Ribchester.

Ribchester is rich in history, with roots extending back to the Bronze Age. Renowned for its significant Roman heritage, the village was the site of Bremetennacum, a Roman cavalry fort that played a crucial role in the region's past. Excavations have unearthed remnants of this ancient fort, offering glimpses into the lives of those who once called this area home.

As time progressed, Ribchester became synonymous with the thriving cotton weaving industry, marked by the establishment of two mills that bolstered the local economy.

Though these mills have since ceased operations, their legacy is a poignant reminder of the village’s industrial era.

Today, Ribchester serves primarily as a dormitory settlement for commuters heading to nearby Blackburn, Preston, and Manchester. Despite the changes, the village maintains its historical charm and attracts visitors keen to explore its cultural heritage and surrounding natural beauty.

The construction of St Wilfrid's Church, located near the site of the Roman fort, highlights the continuity of settlement in the area.

Ribchester's vibrant community spirit shines through in local events such as Field Day and the annual soap box derby, fostering connections among residents and celebrating creativity and camaraderie. This quaint village, beautifully situated along the banks of the River Ribble, is also a haven for stargazers, offering stunning night skies bereft of light pollution.
