The Cambian team
Working at the forefront of our commitment to quality
Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)
At Cambian we work by the motto of helping everyone in care achieve their personal best. This goes for our staff as well as our service users, whose dedication and passion is felt right across our mental health care, learning disabilities and specialist education services.
We recognise the importance of how an incident in one discipline could result in disturbance in other areas, so our teams work with other service staff in a joined-up way to address any gaps in our patients' progress no matter what discipline these concern.
Family members and healthcare professionals are invited to CPA meetings so that they can understand our processes and view the patient’s progress. In fact we are the only group in the UK to recognise the importance of how an incident in one discipline could be the result of a disturbance in other areas.
Our multidisciplinary teams consist of:
• Consultant Psychiatrists
• Specialty Doctors in Psychiatry
• Clinical and Forensic Psychologists
• Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs)
• Occupational Therapists
• Hospital Managers
• Heads of Care
• Therapy Coordinators
• Advocacy Advisors
• Support Workers
Learning and Development
As well as helping staff with academic and vocational training we have invested in and developed our own online learning programme, 'Cambian Achieve', which is available to all employees.
Everyone undertakes an initial induction programme where an introduction to Cambian and our values is followed by compliance training involving a combination of e-learning modules, work based activities, and practical workshops.
Training is monitored and updated regularly and staff receive continual support and appraisals. We offer the opportunity to undertake nationally recognised vocational qualifications delivered either through our City & Guilds Professional Development Centre or through one of our training partners. Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) awards reinforce skills, knowledge and capabilities and are relevant to a person’s area of work or chosen career path.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Cambian recognises that our services benefit and improve from staff’s on-going development in terms of skills and knowledge. The company encourages and supports CPD at all levels by providing opportunities to attend seminars and conferences as well as providing podcasts and seminars on-line through the internal Achieve learning programme.
We offer a wide range of training for our staff and include but are not limited to:
• Leadership and Management
• Human Resources training
• ‘Train the trainer’ courses
• First Aid
• QCF qualifications
• Advanced food hygiene
• Assessor and Verifier Awards
• Professional Training Qualifications
