Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 took part in a great First Aid workshop run by Dave from the Red Cross. The session began with an introduction to the Red Cross, followed by discussions about what might stop someone from helping in an emergency and the idea of the ‘bystander effect’.
Learners then took part in an activity exploring 4–5 everyday first aid situations, thinking about how they would respond. After this, they completed practical training on how to help someone who is unresponsive—both when they are breathing and when they are not.
Our students were enthusiastic, mature and fully engaged throughout. They gained important life‑saving skills and confidence. A big thank‑you to Dave for an inspiring and informative session.
