Lufton College students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award marked World Book Day with a fantastic book-themed activity that combined teamwork, creativity and fundraising.
After watching a short video about the importance of World Book Day, students collected a large pile of books that had been generously gifted to the college. Working together, they practised their teamwork and organisational skills by sorting and arranging the books ready to sell during break and lunchtime.
The aim of the activity was not only to raise money for charity, but also to raise awareness of the importance of books, both for reading and for visual communication. The Duke of Edinburgh students proudly looked after the book stall throughout the day, encouraging other students and staff to browse the collection and purchase a book.
Adding to the fun, some students dressed up as their favourite book characters, bringing the spirit of World Book Day to life around the college. There was a wonderful buzz of excitement as people showed off their purchases and shared their favourite stories.
It was a fantastic effort by the Duke of Edinburgh students, who demonstrated great teamwork, initiative and enthusiasm while celebrating the joy that books can bring.
