Students in Purple Class truly embraced the spirit of Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, participating in a series of calming and creative activities designed to support their emotional wellbeing. This year’s official theme, "This is My Place," focused on building a sense of belonging and community, and our students rose to the occasion with kindness and enthusiasm.

Sensory Calming Bottles: Students crafted mesmerising sensory bottles filled with glitter and colourful liquids. These "calm-down jars" serve as a practical tool for self-regulation, helping students pause and reset when feelings become overwhelming.

The Colour Monster & Relaxing Music: Inspired by the popular story The Colour Monster, students explored different emotions through colour, identifying how feelings like happiness (yellow) or calm (green) can be expressed. The sessions were accompanied by relaxing music, providing a peaceful environment for reflection.

Nail Decoration & Self-Care: In a fun "Express Yourself" session, students enjoyed decorating their nails, using the activity as a moment for light hearted social connection and personal pampering.

Collaborative Hand Print Display: To celebrate the theme of belonging, every student added their unique hand print to a massive collaborative school display. This "This is My Place" mural serves as a powerful visual reminder that every child is a valued part of our school community.
