Specialist Education & Care

We are the UK's largest provider of specialist residential education and care for young people with autism, Asperger syndrome and other associated complex needs. We have over 30 years' experience, and have earned the trust of over 70 Local Authorities and more than 5000 parents.

Although our work embraces many specialist disciplines, it is united by a common purpose:
To actively enable each and every one of the people in our care to achieve their personal best, however it is defined by them or for them. Everything we do is directed towards achieving this aim.

Our approach is outcome-focused and centred on effective partnerships with families and carers. With this foundation, our students can attain the education, living skills and confidence required for a fulfilling and productive life.

At Cambian, it is part of our culture to develop best practice with new, evidence-based research.

On our advisory board, we are privileged to have Simon Baron-Cohen, Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at Cambridge University. His research into autism has been awarded prizes by the American Psychological Association, the British Association for the Advancement of Science and the British Psychological Society. He has written a number of books for parents and teachers, notably “Autism: The Facts” and “Teaching children with autism to mind read.”
