Linton School is an independent special school who caters for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
We are located in Freckleton, near Preston and therefore benefit from some amazing outdoor space where we develop an extensive outdoor curriculum which includes farming, equestrian, horticulture and small animal care. The school provides full time education for up to 12 male or female students ages between 8 and 18 years old. Linton School aims to nurture pupils by offering quality learning experiences so that they can be the best they can be. Pupils are given the opportunity to learn and develop in a supportive and creative environment, ensuring that they feel safe and happy to progress and achieve.
Our specialism of Outdoor Learning is driven through every subject and right across our curriculum with a vast range of opportunities to develop life skills. The days are busy here at Linton School with meaningful learning where the children are supported to achieve their potential. The magnificent rural setting and facilities provide a stimulating environment that is centred around meeting the needs of all of our children and young people.
Linton School is a small school, which means we are able to provide an individual education package to each and every pupil. Our pupils leave school with confidence, self-belief and maturity because they have been treated with respect and nurtured throughout their time here at Linton School. It is important for the staff at Linton School that children feel part of the school community and have a sense of belonging which is why you will quite often see projects around the school designed by the young people.
It is the quality of the relationships and the personalised approach that makes Linton School so successful. Our students are at the heart of everything we do: they love coming to school, are fulfilled, purposefully aspirational and form life-long friendships. Small acts of kindness are valued in equal measure alongside academic achievements.
