Students from Cambian Hereford School recently enjoyed an exciting and educational trip to the local driving range at Hereford Golf Academy, where they combined sport, technology and learning in a fun-filled morning outside the classroom.
During the visit, students focused on developing their golf techniques, improving their swing, hand-eye coordination and understanding how different clubs affect distance and accuracy. Using the academy’s modern golf technology, students were able to track their performance, including distances and angles of shots, as well as the speed of each strike in miles per hour.
The session also encouraged students to apply their maths skills in a practical and engaging way, calculating distances and analysing data from their shots. Friendly competitions between staff and students added to the excitement, with everyone showing fantastic teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the morning.
The trip provided an excellent example of cross-curricular learning, bringing together PE and maths in a real-world setting while promoting confidence, resilience and active participation.
Staff were incredibly proud of all students involved, whose exceptional behaviour and positive attitudes made them a true credit to the school. The morning was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and highlighted the value of learning beyond the classroom environment.
