Cambian Willows
Fitton End Road, Gorefield, Cambridgeshire, PE13 4NQ
A 12 bed hospital specialising in psychiatric rehabiliation for adolescent men
“Through working with young people and their families I have been privileged to understand the needs in child and adolescent mental health services. Our young men often come from inappropriate settings where there is no clear next step for their progression. Cambian’s CAMHS programme offers an alternative to this and it aims at preventing lifelong hospitalisation or incarceration. The young men under our care will be able to participate in a ground-breaking programme led by a strong MDT consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, speech and language therapists, social workers and teachers. Working in partnership with the NHS, we will deliver an outcome driven and value based service”. Angela Muchatuta OBE, Hospital Manager.
Cambian Willows will endeavour to create an environment that is sympathetic to the needs of children and adolescents with mental health issues; giving them the opportunity to experience a positive adolescence.
We have a well established and successful reputation for providing the highest standard in specialist education services to young people throughout our schools, which are rated 'outstanding' in Ofsted inspection reports. We are pleased to deliver the same standard of education in our child and adolescent mental health services, further enhancing vocational prospects for our young men. Not only does our intensive education programme support young people to continue their education, but it also sets them on the right path to lead an independent life.
Cambian Willows is located in the lovely village of Gorefield. Whilst it offers nearby amenities, it has peaceful surroundings promoting low risk absconding. The location also provides patients with a gradual and progressive access to the facilities in the local community, places of interest and entertainment in line with their personal care programmes (developing social interaction and integrated skills).
