On Thursday 24th September, we had the fantastic opportunity to visit Lush Green Hub for National Manufacturing Day. After another school pulled out, we were delighted to be offered a last-minute space, and the whole team worked together to provide 10 places for our students.
The day started with an inspiring careers talk, where students learned about the different routes staff had taken into management, including journeys that began in temping roles. They then toured the factory floor, where they saw, moulds being produced using the CNC machine and learned more about the company's systems and processes, recycling methods and environmentally friendly approach. Staff were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable, and our students asked lots of thoughtful questions throughout the visit.
Students enjoyed learning how to make their own bath bombs using the recipe for the Galaxy Bomb, inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy. At the end of our visit, we were lucky enough to receive a goody bag containing some of our favourite Lush products. We are already looking forward to being invited back next year.
