World Book Day

06.03.2024

In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and literary enthusiasm, Dunbroch School recently played host to Wisbech School for a delightful World Book Day celebration. The halls of Dunbroch were abuzz with excitement on Wednesday, March 6th, as four eager children and three accompanying adults from Wisbech embarked on a memorable journey to our school grounds near Newmarket.

The day commenced with a warm welcome as our guests embarked on a guided tour of our esteemed institution. Their eyes sparkled with admiration as they beheld the splendid facilities Dunbroch has to offer, eliciting a touch of envy from our visitors.

Engagement was at the forefront of our agenda, and we wasted no time diving into a series of engaging activities tailored to celebrate the magic of literature. From crafting intricate masks to putting our literary knowledge to the test with a themed quiz, every moment was filled with laughter and learning.

A highlight of the day was the collective effort in planting seeds, symbolizing the growth and nourishment that comes from nurturing a love for reading. Our guests then savored a delicious lunch, fueling them for further exploration of our campus, including our impressive outdoor facilities dedicated to physical education.

Throughout the day, the warmth and encouragement of our staff resonated with our visitors, fostering an environment of inclusivity and inspiration. One of the young participants from Wisbech School was overheard expressing a desire to join our ranks, a testament to the welcoming atmosphere cultivated at Dunbroch.

Ali, a shining example of our student body, seamlessly integrated with our guests, embodying the spirit of friendship and hospitality. The teachers from Wisbech expressed their eagerness to return, further solidifying the bond between our schools.

As the day drew to a close, certificates and book tokens were distributed, serving as mementos of a day filled with laughter, learning, and lasting connections. It was not merely the end of an eventful day but the genesis of a promising collaboration between Dunbroch School and Wisbech School, bound by a shared passion for education and camaraderie.
