We are delighted to share some excellent news about one of our young people.
J has been formally recognised by Lancaster & Morecambe College for outstanding attendance — a wonderful acknowledgement of his hard work and progress.
This milestone is especially powerful because it reflects success beyond Whinfell. It’s lovely to see our young people’s achievements noticed not only by us but by other parts of their lives too.
Just one year ago, J would have found engaging in a busy mainstream college environment very difficult.
With support from Whinfell and College staff, he has developed important independence skills — including confidently travelling by bus across a long route — which have made college attendance possible and sustainable. That progress makes this recognition from Lancaster & Morecambe College a very significant achievement.
Well done, J. You should be proud of what you have achieved — keep it up next year.
