Our design for the bed-making competition celebrates the vibrant spirit of the Commonwealth. We are thrilled to present our ideas for our unique creation, which embraces the cultural diversity and rich heritage of Commonwealth nations.
Our bed is going to feature a handmade tartan scatter cushion, a nod to the common wealth host, Scotland. We hope that the cushion to add a burst of colour and tradition to our theme.
Draped elegantly across the bed is going to be a flag-themed runner that proudly displays the unity and diversity within the Commonwealth. We will be creating the runner using fabric pens and white material.
To further enhance our presentation, we've included items that highlight different common wealth sports such as, a pair of boxing gloves symbolising sportsmanship and determination, as well as purple thistles representing the beauty and resilience found across the Commonwealth.
This bed is not just a design; it's a celebration of harmony and togetherness. We can't wait to share our creation in the competition and hope it brings joy and inspiration to everyone who sees it!
Our design process was a real team effort. Some of us researched different Commonwealth countries to learn about their cultures and styles. Others got busy creating mood boards and colouring, making sure each element of our design truly represents the spirit of the Commonwealth.
We're so proud of what we've created and can't wait for everyone to see our bed. We hope it'll be like a mini celebration of all those amazing countries united in one joyful display!
