The Van Gogh Immersive Experience is a multi-sensory, digital art exhibit that brings the works and life of Vincent van Gogh to life through 360-degree projections, light and sound shows, and interactive elements.
Students at Devon School had the opportunity to visit this exhibition and see his famous paintings, like The Starry Night and Sunflowers, "freed from their frames" on large screens that fill the space.
The exhibit included a 360° digital show, a VR experience, and a part dedicated to his life story, sometimes with a recreation of his bedroom. Students explored the exhibition and gathered visual research in their sketchbooks which will be the basis for their art scheme of work for the spring term. Both staff and students had an excellent day and came back with a greater understanding of the work of Van Gogh.
