Principal
Steven Ince
Steven joins Brook View School with 15 years of dedicated experience in various settings, including local authorities, charities, and private providers. His expertise spans supporting children with learning disabilities (LD) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. With a proven track record of managing short break provisions and demonstrating exceptional leadership as Head of Service, Steven brings a unique perspective to the Brook View community.

Assistant Principal / Lead DSL
Michael Kennedy
Michael joins Cambian Brook View School after having supported across various Cambian educational provisions and contexts, providing support, appropriate challenge and championing the great work of colleagues and children. Michael has been fortunate to have been part of some fantastic teams and worked with some incredible individuals who are aspirational and inspirational, which includes the children and young people he has been extremely privileged to have supported across our unique service. Michael has extremely high aspirations and expectations for both colleagues and our children and young people, believing there is no finish line.

Interim Head of Education
Claudine Cowell
Claudine Cowell is the English and Humanities Teacher at Brook View School and has worked at the school since 2020. Prior to joining the Cambian Group, Claudine worked for the Local Authority for 9 years as a 16-25 Officer for young people with SEN. She gained further experience working as a Learning Support Assistant before changing career and qualifying as a secondary school teacher.
She is a dual specialist and alongside her Secondary PGCE with QTS, has an Arts and Humanities degree specialising in Creative Writing and Classical Studies. Claudine has also trained as a DSL and is a subject specialist mentor for our trainee teachers.
Claudine leads on SMSC within school and also co-ordinates tutorials, enrichment days and runs the School Council with a focus on pupil wellbeing and voice. Claudine promotes literacy and reading across the curriculum.
She is proud to be a part of the team at Brook View providing engaging and bespoke learning experiences for all of our young people.

Teacher
Scott Chatterton
My name is Scott, I teach Music, Media and Performing Arts at Brook View but I am also interested in Computers and Movies and run these in After School Clubs. I have worked for over 20 years with Children and young adults, many of who require additional support for their learning needs. My lessons provide our young people with a creative outlet through fun, interactive and inspiring projects which allows the Young People I work with to be inspired and build their confidence.
I love to sing, play pianos and drums and I enjoy playing music with our learners and have even helped some pupils write their own songs.
I am committed to helping Young People at Brook View School learn many things about musical instruments and how to play them through singing and making videos and animations. I also help Young People express themselves through music and performances such as shows and becoming a DJ.

Instructor
Mairi Baggs
Mairi is a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant at Brook View School.
Mairi has many years’ experience working with vulnerable young people within educational settings covering SEMH, ASD and SLD. Prior to joining the Cambian Group, Mairi owned her own childminding business which was graded Outstanding by Ofsted. Mairi has also worked as a Deputy Manager of a nursery school.
Mairi leads on Animal Care within school and takes good care of our onsite pets.
Mairi is committed to helping all of the young people at Brook View in order that they can obtain the best opportunities to achieve their goals.

Sammy Morgan
Sammy Morgan is an Instructor and Trainee teacher at Brook View School and joined the team in 2021. Sammy is currently undertaking a PGCE in Education and Training.

Instructor and Trainee Teacher
Yvonne Rigby
Yvonne Rigby is an Instructor and Trainee teacher at Brook view school and joined the team in 2021. Yvonne leads in Science and Forest school, whilst also delivering PSHE and RSE topics.
Yvonne is also Library lead and pupil transitions mentor. Yvonne is currently undertaking a PGCE in Education and training. Yvonne is passionate about delivering the best opportunities to all young people and is proud to be part of the Brook view team.

Instructor and Trainee Teacher
Andy Brierley
‘My name is Andy and I am an Instructor and Trainee Teacher at Brook View School. I have worked in SEN settings since 2016 and lead in Art, Design and Technology as well as setting up the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. I have a great interest in model aircraft and horticulture but I am especially interested in photography and painting where I create many wonderful landscapes and designs. I also manage the displays in the school which change regularly.’

Administration
Steph McLeod
Steph is the Administrator at Brook View. She has worked here since January 2022. Steph supports both care and education in all administration.
She has just commenced her Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship

Teacher
Darryl McNicholl
Darryl is Maths, PE & ICT Lead at Brook View School and has been at the school since September 2022. Darryl joined us with wealth of experience in the SEND landscape having spent his time at university focusing around areas which related to inclusion and SEND. Darryl has since developed through working in alternative provision and through his coaching pathway where he coaches for a local Preston team, Sir Tom Finney Football Club, with his focus around disability, refugees, girls and ladies and spends a lot of his out of work hours volunteering to help young people and adults develop holistically. Darryl has a keen interest in developing young people holistically by using a range of techniques and approaches to bring out the best of each individual and is hoping to use his previous experiences to bring out the best of the young people at Brook View.

Teacher
Steph Birtill
Steph is a qualified teacher and leads on English and Drama at Brook View School. She has worked in SEN for the past 10 years. In her spare time she likes to record music at home and sing at events. Before working for Cambian she taught Theatre Studies at University whilst studying for her Masters degree.
Governance Board
Termly Governance Board meetings are held at Cambian Brook View School to ensure that the management of the school is closely scrutinised and held to account in all areas of responsibility.
