Regional Education Lead

Lisa Lyon

As Regional Education Lead for the South AS team I have oversight of 5 schools and colleges. I took up this role in September 2020 having previously worked for Cambian for 3 years as Headteacher of one of their Complex Trauma Schools. I have a long history of working in specialist settings starting over 15 years ago in a Local Authority run SEMH residential special school in Birmingham, first as Assistant Headteacher before moving onto Headship in a neighbouring authority. These roles have certainly brought their challenges, not least moving one school from inadequate to Good with outstanding features.

My experience has taught me the value of team work in creating environments in which children and young people can thrive and achieve the best outcomes allowing them to move on to the next stage of education, employment or training. I am passionate about school improvement and empowering staff to work creatively. I have a real drive to develop trauma informed practice in all of my schools and ensure that students are supported to learn in an environment where there needs are met and understood.
