Specialist Education

Lufton College believes that work experience plays an integral part of a young person’s development and prepares them for the transition from life at college to work, where appropriate and life after education. Lufton College’s World of Work department is intended to develop skills for future career planning, and to provide access to vocational learning and work placements, as part of the Employability strand of Preparing for Adulthood. The curriculum incorporates the skills valued in the world of work, including effective communication, problem solving and collaboration.

Kerry is our Head of employment, and provides job coaching and support to gain skills for independence and work for our students at college. We also work with an independent careers advisor, who meets with students every term to provide them with independent advice and guidance which is adapted and personalised to meet each students ambitions and personal goals.
