Meet the Team at Cambian Lufton College
Head of Department for Employment
Kerry Herbert
Supporting Lufton College students with work experience and employment opportunities. Kerry has been at Lufton for 5 years in April 2026.
I have had a few different jobs which gives me the experience to help others find their paths. This includes, working selling ships bridge equipment which was exciting and interesting. I find it incredibly rewarding to help students recognise their strengths and support them in building the skills and confidence they need for future employment and independence.
Sports Tutor
Caitlyn Black
Hello! My name is Caitlyn, I have worked at Lufton since September 2025 delivering the sports curriculum, previously having worked in a primary SEN and mainstream.
Animal Care Technician & Tutor
Ben Trott
I have worked at Lufton for just over two years now. I love working at Lufton as every day is different, with both students and the animals. Seeing students progress in confidence around the animals and in independent skills in a highlight of my job.
Before coming to Lufton, I worked at another land-based college for 6 years, where I was a tutor and teacher in Animal Care and before that I was a bird keeper at a zoo where I worked with lots of different species including penguins, parrots and hornbills.
Tutor
Hayleigh Brown
I have been a dedicated member of the Lufton College team for over nine years. It is a testament to how much I value this environment and our students that the time has flown by so quickly; every day continues to bring new, rewarding challenges.
What truly inspires me is the privilege of being a part of a young person’s transitional journey. There is immense professional and personal fulfilment in witnessing our students find their voice, develop their independence, and ultimately evolve into the individuals they aspire to be. At Lufton, I’m not just witnessing growth; I’m helping to build the foundations for it.
