Success can be measured in many different ways and our goal is to support the students in our care and bring out the best in them.

The purpose and ethos of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches.  We provide a nurturing environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

We have heard our daughter say how much she enjoys the food at lunchtime and that she's been enjoying connecting with other students in the class, particularly one who has a similar interest in cars like she does.

She was impressed with the FT space yesterday and loved that lesson as well as DT, Science and is excited at the opportunity to use a laptop for English. She has not been overwhelmed when returning home from school which is a first - a noticeable difference, which is quite remarkable given she hasn't been in a school setting since December 23. Many thanks to everyone involved in supporting a great start to the new term.

Unfortunately our son doesn’t feed much information back to us, but always comes home stating he’s had a good day. We are amazed at how much he is achieving and doing at Grateley, in such a short time.

He has changed so much already and has built up so much confidence . No longer do we have meltdowns in the morning and he’s always happy to get ready to attend school, which has been very different over the past 5 years.

He’s been coming home with many wonderful things he has created and baked which he usually wouldn’t undertake. Honestly we as a family can’t praise you all enough for the change and support you are providing him.

Star outcomes have helped me visually see thje progress I have made during my time at Grateley house school. I found it helpful and enjoyable discussing my progress and what targets need to be put in place. In order to help me reach my future goal of going to university.

I found completing the Student Star with my student brought out discussions they would often shy away from. We were able to have good discussions about our scores on the Star and how they varied from each other’s and give examples of situations which make them score the score given. A good tool to open up good discussions.

At Grateley, success isn't a one-size-fits-all concept, it's defined by each individual student. In this video, Principal Eva Pereira shares her perspective on how the school measures success in a way that’s deeply personal and meaningful.
