Fostering Services

How Much do Foster Parent's Get Paid?

At By the Bridge with Cambian, we ask you to look at fostering as a full-time career and come away from any current full-time employment. We treat you as professionals so it’s vital that you are paid for your time to cover the cost of caring for a child or young person on a day-to-day basis as well as a professional fee for your work. This means you will be able to commit to being a foster parent as a full-time career whilst working from the comfort of your own home.

Pay varies according to the type of fostering you undertake, the age of the child and their specific needs. The older the child or young person you look after, the higher the pay that you’ll receive. You’ll earn great weekly pay, on average £450 per week per child, whilst also receiving generous allowances to help towards the cost of looking after a child. This may include clothing, summer holiday, Christmas and even travel allowance. We would also provide a higher professional fee for foster children or young people that require more skilled support, e.g. those with autism, a disability, specialist behaviours, mother & baby.

Like any career, you’ll also have the opportunity to work towards a promotion with our fostering development programme. This allows you to develop your skills and knowledge through training, supervision and day to day fostering work which means you can achieve higher pay grades.
