The Lodge is one of our lively, energetic residential homes, offering a bustling and enjoyable environment where young people can experience both adventure and stability.
Our Ethos
The Lodge is built around an ethos of reflection, growth, and joyful experience. This vibrant home embraces adventure and activity, giving young people the chance to explore new hobbies, build confidence, and enjoy the lively routines that make each day feel full and rewarding. The Lodge offers a balance of excitement and calm that supports both learning and wellbeing.
In line with our colour-psychology approach, shades of blue flow throughout the lounge, bathroom, and hallway, symbolising reflection, self-awareness, and emotional regulation. These calming spaces help young people develop strategies for managing their feelings, strengthen positive relationships, and gain important life skills.
Above all, The Lodge encourages young people to connect, reflect, and have fun, creating an environment where they can flourish, feel understood, and end each day with a sense of pride in what they’ve achieved.
Life at The Lodge
The Lodge is an action-packed, fun-filled home where every day brings something new to enjoy. Young people might start the day heading out fishing, then spend the evening playing laser tag, or simply enjoying a relaxed board game night back at the house. Even when the pace slows, there’s always a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like home.
After busy days, evenings at The Lodge are a time to relax and recharge. The young people enjoy foot spas, essential oils, black-out curtains, and the all-important audiobooks—perfect for winding down after a jam-packed day.
Mealtimes are another highlight, with all dinners cooked from scratch and favourites including lentil, vegetable and miso stew, black bean, mushroom and avocado burritos, and fish curry. Sharing healthy, homemade meals is a key part of the day and brings everyone together.
Life at The Lodge is energetic, nurturing, and full of memorable moments, where young people are supported to grow, explore, and enjoy every day to the fullest.
The Team
The Lodge is led by Lauren Stubley, Deputy Head of Care at Southlands and the current Home Manager of the home. Working alongside her is a dedicated and enthusiastic team; Ben, Les, Libby and Kunjumol, each bringing their own strengths, warmth, and commitment to the young people they support. Together, they create a lively, caring environment where every day is filled with encouragement, fun, and genuine teamwork.
