Residential Care Worker

About the Job Role

Your working day will be varied and exciting. You will be involved in different duties such as attending supporting young people in their daily living tasks at home, supporting children with education and ensuring their wellbeing is maintained as well as supporting young people in a multitude of fun activities which include cinema trips, theme parks and even holidays abroad. 

 

We are looking for people who are flexible, reliable, adaptable and able to read situations to help our young people make positive choices.

 

The Role

• Working on a rota basis- 0800-2300 and sleep ins- this will depend on the size of the home but we understand certain commitments and will be pleased to talk about flexible working (average 172 hours a month)

• Reporting to the Team leader and Home Manager.

• Making sure there is a comprehensive handover for the staff on the following shift.

• Meeting the needs of the Children and Young People

• Organising and facilitating Social Activities (out of school)

• Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning shopping etc.)


Qualifications/Experience/Requirements

• NVQ or Level 3 diploma in children and young people is desirable.

• Living within travelling distance to the home in Wisbech.

• You must over 21 years old and have a full UK driving licence.

• You would need experience working as a Child Support Worker or with transferable skills.

• Ofsted knowledge would be needed as well as general safe guarding and compliance experience.

 

About You

We are looking for people who have life skills, having experience with children or health and social care would benefit, but this is NOT essential for us at Cambian as we ensure full training and support are provided.

• £10.08 to £10.70 per hour - (20 - 40 hours a week Days)

• £12.33 per hour (20 - 40 hours a week Nights)

• Full Time, Part Time Positions available 8:00am-8:30pm

• Shift patterns and Rotas to support your work-life balance

• 3-5 paid shadow shifts working with an experienced Support Worker or Team Leader.
