Head Teacher

Karen Carrington

Nine years ago, I started at Cambian, progressing from Pastoral Manager to Headteacher, after many years spent holding various different roles within educational settings.

I have a desire to see every student able to follow their dreams, and believe that a bespoke education, which engages the interests, aptitudes and abilities of the individual, combined with outstanding pastoral care, is the best way to help our young people achieve this.

Assistant Head Teacher

Simon Page

I have been a working in schools since 1993, firstly as a mostly in mainstream schools as a PE teacher, then Business and ICT.  My career has taken to many different places, including Devon, South London, East of London, Potters Bar, Luton and now Newmarket.  Throughout this time, I have held a variety of roles, such as Head of PE, Head of Year, House Leader and as an Assistant Headteacher in two schools.

My most recent positions have been in SEND education, working with those that possessed an Physical and Neurological need, and then in a school which supported a range of differing needs, which included moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities as well as Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Even after over 30 years in education, I still enjoy teaching and working alongside dedicated staff, but most importantly I enjoy seeing students reach their potential.

I look forward to developing my skills further and working alongside the staff in providing an experience of education that is beneficial for the students and staff, alike.

English Teacher

Beckie Griffiths

Hi, I’m Beckie, and I’ve been in and around the world of education for nearly 30 years. I began teaching English in inner-city Nottingham, which was both a baptism of fire and also incredibly rewarding, then took 13 years out of classroom teaching to raise and home-educate my four children. Home-education taught me that there are many ways to approach an education, and I tend now to favour an informal approach, taking into consideration the individual needs, interests and aptitude of the young person. I believe that education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire!

I returned to the classroom once my children were teenagers, and have enjoyed several years in mainstream, before coming back to Dunbroch as the English teacher with a firm slant towards the dramatic.

John McCambridge

I’m John your art tutor,

I’m a bit of a wild rover, to start with I grew up on the north coast of Ireland, a place full of legends and magical creatures.

I moved to France where I lived for a long time eating such delights as snails on pizza. I lived in Poland as well which was amazing before moving back to the UK to start a family with my wife.

I’ve drawn pictures since I can remember, and especially love drawing fantasy, horror and war things.

I have made a lot of video games over the years with themes ranging from King Arthur to 50 Cents the rap singer and Bulletstorm.

I also make illustrations for board games and comic books along with being an instructor on how to become an artist in the entertainment industry.

I love teaching art, I regularly attend Linton Book festival to do a Dragon art workshop with a bunch of very enthusiastic young artists

I am fluent in French and run a French class in a school in New Market.

My hobbies are hiking and making scale models of tanks and action figures.

Things on my bucket list to do are visit Iceland and Mexico to see the Mayan Temples and walk across Hadrian’s wall.
