Specialist Education

Brook View was buzzing with excitement today as Purple Class welcomed a very special visitor: a local police officer who arrived with a patrol car, sirens blaring and blue lights flashing. The visit was part of a "People Who Help Us" topic, designed to build positive relationships between the children and the police.

The highlight for many was exploring the police car. The children took turns sitting in the driver’s seat, mesmerised by the glowing dashboard and the chance to press the buttons that activate the flashing blue lights.

The officer shared insights into daily life on the force. The children were fascinated by the special equipment officers carry, including:

  • Radios: For communicating with the station.
  • Handcuffs: Which several brave students were eager to try out, feeling the heavy metal and learning how they keep people safe.

The visit left pupils with a newfound respect for their community heroes and, for some, a dream of becoming an officer one day.
