On a blustery and chilly day, our young people embraced a real outdoor challenge—climbing up to the iconic folly at Hampsfell. Armed with warm clothing and a spirit of determination, they faced the gusty winds head-on, showing remarkable perseverance throughout the journey.
The experience was filled with memorable moments: the exhilarating rush of the wind and the cosy refuge found in the storm shelter provided both excitement and comfort. Though the final stretch tested their stamina, their positive attitude never wavered, culminating in the successful completion of the walk.
What stood out even more was the thoughtful reflection during the session review. With enthusiasm, they recounted their adventure and demonstrated responsibility by carefully organising their kit afterwards—an inspiring example of resilience and maturity.
This walk not only challenged physical limits but also nurtured confidence and self-management, embodying the spirit of growth we cherish at Whinfell School.
