The staff and students enjoyed the opportunity to dress up for World Book Day. People had chosen and made some very creative costumes from their favourite book. Staff and students had the opportunity to participate in a range of fun activities were available throughout the day.

Grateley also enjoyed sharing World Book Day with Pi Day. It was not quite baking and eating pies but celebrating the mathematical constant Pi. The event involved taking the challenge to see how many digits can be recalled from memory. There were some outstanding efforts from staff and students.  The Grateley student record still stands at 63 digits and a new staff record was achieved this year at 111. Pi starts with 3.14, which is why Pi Day takes place on March 14th.

Here are the first few digits but there are a many more to follow.
