The Beverley School Go Ape

26.03.2018

It was that time again - the Beverley School half term reward trip: and on this occasion, it was Go Ape!

Dalby Forest was the destination and swinging through the trees was the order of the day.

As we parked at the location, there was a barrage of over confidence and a cacophony of bravado and bravery. After the safety brief, we were on our way, navigating through the tree top obstacles.

At one point we were walking along a cable suspended across trees 10 metres above the ground, before swinging through the trees into a scramble net (Tarzan would have been proud)! Some of the pupils were less vocal on some of the obstacles as some nerves crept in.

Social bonding and teamwork were reinforced and encouraged, while pupils battled with their anxious nerves as they navigated the high obstacles and various zip wires. The weather was cloudy with some rain but it passed unnoticed. The pupils climbed into the transport home recounting their adventure and asking if we could go again for their next reward trip. What a great day!
