Throughout October students have enjoyed one-off lessons in English focusing on Black History Month.
We have explored historical figures who have made a real difference to the world from Martin Luther King Jr, to Jesse Owens and Barack Obama. Students have learnt about and answered questions on Slavery Posters from the 1800s and used laptops to research the origins of words such as ‘yummy’, ‘gumbo’ and ‘juke box.’ The interest and enthusiasm from our students has been really inspiring to see. Well done boys!
