Visiting Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist – Education

Job Title: Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist – Education settings

 

Salary: Up to £150,000 pro rata’d

 

Hours: 3 days per week (All other part time working options will be considered.)

 

Package includes: Protected SPA time; Paid Study leave; Peer Network support; No on call requirement; Hybrid working models available

 

Locations: The Forum School - Blandford Forum, Dorset, Purbeck View School – Swanage, Dorset & Lufton College – Yeovil, Somerset

 

In line with our exciting plans for transformation and growth and the delivery of outstanding care for our children and young people, we are now looking to appoint a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, to work as a visiting school psychiatrist, across a number of our Specialist Educational Needs (SEN) Schools. This role would suit someone looking to further develop a portfolio career and use their professional skills working as a clinician in a non-clinical setting in a role that allows for work-life balance.

We support our students from the age of 7 to the Transition Pathway, delivering specialist primary, secondary schools further education services.

Requirements

 

MRCPsych


Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or equivalent


Full General Medical Council registration


Be on the Specialist Register


Evidence of either dual training or the development of a special interest in learning disability psychiatry (desirable)


Approved Clinician status (Section 12, Mental Health Act)


Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in busy environment


Able to evidence good multi-disciplinary team working while working as the only psychiatric practitioner on site


Driving License and/or the ability to travel between sites

 

 

Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
