HOT DAY = HAIRCUT DAY at Lufton College!

With temperatures soaring past 30°C, our alpacas decided they simply couldn’t go on living life as fluffy toasties any longer. So… it was time for their annual glow-up.

Enter the wonderful Alpaca Shearing who worked their magic and transformed our woolly giants into what can only be described as “unexpectedly small and slightly surprised alpacas.”

The before-and-after photos are hilarious - it looks like they shrunk in the wash!

They’re now cooling off nicely and I'm sure you will agree that they will be MUCH happier without their built-in winter duvets in this glorious heat.

Some alpaca fun facts: they are a highly social herd animals in the camelid family that hum to communicate, use communal dung piles to keep their environments clean, and are missing upper front teeth.
