Grateley House School’s student council has been extremely busy and the young people were very excited on a recent trip to London.

They visited the St Paul’s Cathedral and climbed the 259 steps leading to the Whispering Gallery, which runs around the dome’s interior.

It was designated the title of the ‘Whispering Gallery’ because a whisper said against its walls can be heard on the opposite side of the wall; this is due to the idiosyncratic construction.

The students learned all about the history of the cathedral and that the dome is the second largest in the world at 366 feet high and is reached by climbing an additional 263 steps.

After all that climbing and whispering, the students and staff went off for a well-deserved burger at GBK.  Furthermore to top off the day for the young people’s hard work, everybody went on the Thames RIB experience.

This is the ultimate exhilarating rollercoaster ride but on water!  The tour allows rider to experience the famous modern and historic sights of London, whilst travelling at full speed on the Thames!

The student council and staff thoroughly enjoyed their day in London and cannot wait to go back!
