Bon Appétit

31.10.2021

During the half term, Year 10 and Year 11 students at Potterspury Lodge School have been cooking up some wonderful French cuisine as part of their practical lessons.

Our older students took in the challenge of creating the perfect hollandaise and bearnaise sauces, whilst successfully applying what they have learnt from their NCFE Food and Cookery qualification - such as personal and environmental hygiene practices, as well as hazard awareness.

Our Year 7 students also got involved by making healthy, nutritious foods such as vegetable crumble and couscous salad after learning about the Eat Well Guide and what constitutes healthy eating. They also took some time to study the various nutritional values of different foods and identifying those which are better for us.

What a great way to have fun, whilst encouraging healthy eating and learning about French cuisine!
