Arts & Minds is a schools-based competition organised by the NASUWT (the Teachers’ Union) to celebrate Black History Month.

The competition is open to children and young people from primary, secondary and special schools across the UK.

During half term, our young people at Cambian Hereford School have been busily completing entries for the competition.

The competition consists of students submitting a creative writing piece and an art piece. The message that the art and writing should reflect are that racism, discrimination, prejudice and bullying is unacceptable.

Both KS3 and KS4 students have completed amazing entries for this competition, all hoping for the chance of winning prizes.

The prizes available include: an expenses paid trip to London where they will all attend the award ceremony hosted by Gok Wan; as well as money for both student and their school to fund resources.

Each of one of our young people have submitted a piece showcasing their fantastic work and has shown their talents in creativity and imagination.

The finished pieces are astounding and each young person should be very proud of what they achieve, the staff certainly are.

Good luck everybody!
