On Thursday 24th August lots of young people around the UK were anxiously awaiting their GCSE results, Cambian Home Tree School also were in the line-up.

We are delighted to report that all the young people from Cambian Home Tree School received good GCSE and Functional Skills examination results this year.  The results surpassed the expected levels of progress for all students.  The staff, young people and parents are very proud of these accomplishments, despite ongoing social, emotional and mental health challenges that are faced regularly.

We have had so many success stories including one young person called Ella*, who was hospitalised in a Tier 4 hospital whilst being educated by the school.  Ella was so happy to receive her results envelope and see that she had passed all her GCSE’s at grade C and above.  She has been accepted to join a local sixth form in September.

Jack*, another young person based at Cambian Home Tree School, did very well in his GCSEs and said “I am very pleased with my results.”  His parents also commented on his success, “We are very proud of him and his results.  Particularly as his education has been disrupted over the last few years.  We just would like to say thank you to all the school staff for your support of Jack and helping him achieve such excellent results”.

Jack has shown an outstanding performance in his GCSE results achieving higher results than his predicated grades.  He has dealt with many obstacles over the last few years with his health and he also had to complete the majority of the 2 year GCSE courses over 2 terms due to only joining the school in September 2016.  Jack got 10 passes, achieving the equivalence of GCSE grades A* to C in all his subjects.

It has been a great result for the school and staff are extremely pleased with how well Jack has done.  “We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication Jack has shown over the year he has spent with us at Home Tree School and are all very pleased that he has superb results in view of this.”(Melanie Higgs, Deputy Head)

Congratulations to everybody at Cambian Home Tree School, here’s wishing you even more success in the future!
