Cambian Whinfell get involved with the local community

13.02.2017

Over the last few months we have had a big push on clubs and getting involved in the local community.

The art club in school has taken off and one of the boys has used the time to produce some brilliant work which he entered into a local competition - and won!

Other boys have joined Kendal rugby club, who are on a winning streak, beating teams from as far afield as Liverpool and Preston.  We have also had scouts and army cadets where they have gone on night navigation exercises and done overnight camps.

There have also been very brave attempts canoeing solo by our young people - as you can see from the video!

Before Christmas we became involved with the parish church and contributed to the shoe-box appeal as well as singing and doing the readings at the Christmas service.

We also had a 5-a-side football match against a local school.  We won’t discuss the result, but everyone involved had a great time!

Well done to all our young people at Cambian Whinfell for their participation.
