Inspiring the Next Generation Through Workplace Experiences

As part of Career Week, children of our staff members have enjoyed a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the world of work by visiting their parent’s workplace and seeing first-hand what happens during a typical working day.

The workplace visits gave children the chance to explore different careers, discover the variety of roles adults undertake, and understand the skills and qualities needed in different professions. By spending time with their parents at work, children were able to ask questions, observe activities, and gain valuable insight into the many opportunities that may be available to them in the future.

Career Week is an important opportunity to help children develop an understanding of the wider world and encourage them to think about their aspirations. Meeting people in different roles helps children recognise the importance of skills such as teamwork, communication, creativity, organisation, and problem-solving ,skills that are valuable in every career.

The visits were a wonderful way for children to connect their understanding of learning with real-life experiences. They enjoyed seeing where their parents work, learning about their responsibilities, and discovering how different jobs contribute to the success of an organisation.

Safety and wellbeing were a priority throughout the visits, with staff parents supervising their children and ensuring they followed workplace guidance. This allowed children to enjoy the experience in a safe, welcoming, and positive environment.

We would like to thank all of our staff members and their families who supported Career Week and helped make these experiences possible. By opening up their workplaces and sharing their roles, they have helped inspire children to explore future possibilities, develop their ambitions, and understand the many different career paths available to them.

Career Week has been a wonderful reminder that learning happens everywhere and that every career journey begins with curiosity, imagination, and ambition.
