Charity Sky Dive

14.05.2026

What an amazing thing to do.

On Sunday 10th May, a group of staff and young people from Whinfell gathered at the drop zone to cheer on one of our own, J, who bravely completed a charity skydive to raise funds for St John’s Hospice a charity that means so much to many families in the local area and within Whinfell.

J’s leap from the plane was met with cheers as the parachute opened and J completed a safe, smiling descent to the ground.
Young people and staff came along to show their support and be part of the special event.
This was a powerful example of courage, commitment and community spirit in action.

We are so proud of J for taking on this challenge. It’s a reminder to our pupils that resilience and kindness can change lives.

The atmosphere on the day perfectly reflected Whinfell’s values calm, nurturing and ambitious. Young people who joined the event showed exemplary behaviour and encouragement, clapping and waving as J began the jump and celebrating together when J landed safely.
