Thrill-Seeking Water Sports

15.07.2022

This week students enjoyed a visit to North East Wake Park, a centre that specialises in a range of exciting and thrill-seeking water sports, from paddle boarding to water skiing and all in between, there is something there for everyone!

Student were able to enjoy the Lake Force Assault Course. This course, a series of daunting and dramatic inflatable obstacles, ironically set in the serene backdrop of a beautiful lake and peaceful woodland, is a physically, exhilarating and challenging circle of high climbs, long slides, muscle straining obstacles and of course, icy North-Eastern water- sharpening the senses with its chill.

Students engaged in a series of individual challenges and team building exercises, designed to foster both independence and unifying team work. All of our students completed the course and indeed every aspect of the training. Their behaviour was excellent and the resulting team work displayed, was a joy to behold.

Yes, they were cold, wet and felt like squashed sardines in unfamiliar wet suits, but all students reported positive experiences. They smiled, they laughed, they bounced, climbed and slidm they swam, they jumped and they all helped one another, leaving not one of their team behind.

A positive, yet rather wet experience was had by both staff and students and the words that were heard more often than most was; “When can we go back!”
